BREAKING
FOR DOCTORS · LEVEL 3

"I am with you
on your journey."

What you give your patients when you hand them a Medicus card before their trip:
Their doctor at home — with them, anywhere in the world.

Level 3 membership gives you 4 quiet tools to deepen the doctor-patient relationship — and a permanent place in our 247,000-strong global directory.

ACT 1 — IN YOUR CLINIC

Your patient Mr. Hansen comes in for his 6-month check-up. He mentions he's flying to Florida next week. You print a Medicus card — his name, blood type, allergies, your contact — and hand it to him.

"Have a great trip, Mr. Hansen — my number is on the card. On me."

ACT 2 — IN MIAMI

Mr. Hansen has chest pain. Paramedic finds the card, scans QR — full record on phone in 30 seconds. They call ahead to Mount Sinai with his blood thinners and bypass history. Hospital is ready when he arrives.

ACT 3 — A BRIDGE BETWEEN DOCTORS

The cardiologist in Florida sees your name on the card. She calls you directly. You answer. You know Mr. Hansen — his history, his quirks, his preferences. You and the Florida cardiologist coordinate care across the Atlantic. Mr. Hansen recovers. He flies home. He comes back to you for the rest of his life — and so do his children.

That's not a directory. That's not a subscription. That's a bridge between two doctors and one patient — and the bridge starts with a €0.10 piece of paper you handed him at his check-up.

What's included with Level 3 — €200/year

🎁

20 personal Medicus cards / year

Give a card to each patient who travels — as a professional courtesy. Not a sales tool. A gesture. Their lifesaving card carries your name and clinic on it. They'll remember.

📍

Premium directory placement

Among 247,000 listed professionals in 138 countries. Patients searching for "English-speaking GP Marbella" find you first. SEO-optimized, no ad spend.

💚

Patient recommendations

When a happy patient recommends you to a friend, the friend's name and email lands in your dashboard — opt-in, GDPR-clean. Export as Excel anytime. Send Christmas cards if you want.

Medicus Specials SOON

When the marketplace launches: post small offers to fill cancelled slots — "First 30 minutes free this Friday afternoon." Live in seconds. Patients arrive.

A few things this is NOT:

  • NOT a sales program — there's no commission, no quota, no leaderboard
  • NOT a network you "join" — you keep your patients, your data, your business
  • NOT a subscription that requires effort — print 20 cards a year, that's it
  • NOT MLM — your patients aren't your downline, they're your patients

7a. Database Rights & Scraping Prohibition

The medicus.global database is protected under Directive 96/9/EC of the European Parliament (the "Database Directive") as a database in which substantial investment has been made in the obtaining, verification, and presentation of its contents, including but not limited to: curation and deduplication of over 270,000 medical professional records; translation of categories, specialties, and metadata into 24 languages; geocoding of clinical locations; peer-witness verification data; and editorial categorisation against canonical taxonomies. Database rights subsist for 15 years from substantial update and are renewed by each substantial new investment.

Users and third parties are expressly prohibited from:

  • Bulk extraction, scraping, crawling, harvesting, mass-downloading, or systematic copying of any substantial part (qualitatively or quantitatively assessed) of the database, whether by manual or automated means including robots, scripts, headless browsers, or scraping tools;
  • Re-utilisation, republication, redistribution, or making available to the public the whole or any substantial part of the contents, including via APIs, datasets, search engines, training data for machine-learning or large language models, or aggregator services;
  • Repeated and systematic extraction of insubstantial parts which, taken together, amount to extraction of a substantial part — explicitly prohibited under Article 7(5) of the Database Directive;
  • Circumventing rate-limits, CAPTCHA challenges, watermarking systems, login requirements, or any technical protection measures;
  • Using the directory data to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any artificial intelligence model, language model, or machine learning system without prior written authorisation from Global B2C Ltd.

medicus.global employs cryptographic watermarking on all search responses. Each response embeds a unique, IP-bound fingerprint sufficient to identify the requesting party in the event of unauthorised republication. Honeypot records with cryptographic HMAC signatures are seeded throughout the database to evidence scraping activity. Violation of these provisions will result in immediate termination of access and legal action for damages, including but not limited to recovery of the substantial investment described herein, lost licensing revenue, and legal costs. Global B2C Ltd reserves all rights to seek injunctive relief in any competent jurisdiction.

Patient data within "My Medicus" health passport records is encrypted at the field level using XChaCha20-Poly1305 and Argon2id key derivation; the platform operator does not possess the cryptographic keys necessary to read such data. Any attempt to bypass this encryption constitutes a separate criminal offence under applicable computer-misuse legislation.

🛡️ Verification & Trust

How is a doctor verified on Medicus?

Medicus operates a transparent 4-tier verification system. We never claim more than we can honestly back up.

✅ Verified — The doctor's credentials have been cross-checked against an official national medical registry via a public API (e.g. US NPI Registry, Danish Sundhed.dk, UK GMC). This is automated and cannot be faked.
🟢 Endorsed — Either (a) the doctor's hospital admin has personally confirmed they work there, or (b) 3 or more verified colleagues have individually stated they have seen the doctor's Medical ID and can vouch for its authenticity.
🟡 Self-attested — The doctor has uploaded a photo or PDF of their Medical ID document. The document is visible on their profile for patient inspection. Medicus does not verify documents — you form your own judgement.
⚪ Unverified — Default state. No verification claims are made. The entry exists because the doctor is listed in a public professional directory, but Medicus has not validated anything.

⚠ Important: Being Level 3 Premium (a paid tier for enhanced visibility) is unrelated to verification. A doctor can be Premium without being Verified — and vice versa. We keep these separate on purpose.

Who decides what "Verified" means?

"Verified" is reserved only for doctors whose identity we can prove against an official, public national registry. Currently supported:

  • 🇺🇸 USA — NPI Registry (live API)
  • 🇬🇧 UK — GMC (planned)
  • 🇩🇰 Denmark — Sundhed.dk (planned)
  • 🇳🇴 Norway, 🇸🇪 Sweden — planned

Countries without open registries (Spain, Germany, Turkey, etc.) use the Endorsed or Self-attested tiers instead — we are honest that automatic verification is not possible there.

I'm a doctor — how do I get verified?

Choose the path that matches your country:

  1. If your country has an open medical registry (USA NPI, and others we add over time): we will automatically mark you ✅ Verified once we match your medical ID to the registry.
  2. If your hospital is registered with Medicus: ask your hospital admin to endorse you — you become 🟢 Endorsed instantly.
  3. If you know verified colleagues: ask 3 of them to log in and vouch for your Medical ID. 3+ independent witnesses = 🟢 Endorsed automatically.
  4. If none of the above: upload a clear photo or PDF of your Medical ID from your dashboard. You become 🟡 Self-attested. Patients see the document and decide for themselves.
I'm a hospital — how do we endorse our doctors?

Hospital administrators can register at medicus.global/hospital for free. After choosing a password, you get a dashboard where you can:

  • See all doctors currently associated with your hospital in our directory
  • Click ✓ OK next to any doctor = that doctor becomes 🟢 Endorsed
  • Bulk-endorse multiple doctors in one click
  • Endorsements expire after 1 year — you re-confirm annually

Important: Endorsements belong to the doctor, not the hospital. You cannot withdraw an endorsement as retaliation — only let it expire. This protects doctors from institutional pressure.

What if a doctor turns out to be fake or inappropriate?

Report the issue to report@medicus.global with the doctor's profile URL and details. We investigate every report and:

  • Immediately suspend the profile if there is credible evidence of fraud
  • Revoke Verified / Endorsed status and log the action in the audit trail
  • Notify hospital administrators if they endorsed the doctor
  • Keep the entry flagged so the same person cannot easily re-register

Medicus is a directory, not a licensing body. We facilitate discovery and trust signals, but ultimate responsibility for verifying fitness-to-practise lies with national medical authorities and the patient's own due diligence.

👥 For Patients

Is Medicus free to use?

Yes — Medicus is always free for patients. Doctors and hospitals pay for enhanced visibility. You can search, view profiles, and contact any listed professional at no cost.

How do I contact a doctor?

Click on any doctor's profile. You will see their contact options — some doctors display their phone and email directly (Premium tier); others route initial contact through our secure messaging system. All recommended doctors receive the same channels of contact.

What languages does Medicus support?

The Medicus interface is available in 18 languages. You can filter doctors by languages they speak — useful for medical tourism or when travelling abroad.

🏥 About Medicus

Where does your doctor data come from?

Our initial directory of 247,000+ medical professionals is compiled from public national registries and hospital websites where such directories are publicly available. Doctors can claim their profile at any time, add information, upload documents, and request upgrades to their verification tier.

Who is behind Medicus?

Medicus is built and operated by Global B2C Ltd (Company No. 11381812, registered in Colchester, United Kingdom). We are a small, independent team focused on making global medical directory information more trustworthy and accessible.

How can I get my clinic or hospital on Medicus?

Hospital admins can self-register at medicus.global/hospital. Individual doctors can sign up or claim an existing entry via the login link in the top menu. For large hospital chains or government partnerships, contact info@medicus.global.
